While jock itch is frequently noted in otherwise healthy patients, it is more common in diabetes and/or obesity. Jock itch is primarily seen in the groin, although it may spread to the inner thighs, genitals (including penis, scrotum, labia and vaginal opening), and anus. The symptoms may intermittently come and go and many cases of jock itch resolve spontaneously without any treatment. In general, jock itch tends to be a mild condition that occurs at least once at some point in most people’s lives.
